Shailendra Langade

Shailendra studied Mechanical Engineering and received his Master of Technology (M. Tech.) degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1991.

He joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) immediately thereafter. During the early part of his IT career, he was primarily a C/Unix programmer with a good hold on SQL and RDBMS. At TCS, he had ample opportunities to work in technology leadership role on large turnkey projects. To name a few: first-ever client-server system implementation for an international bank in Japan during 1992-93; derivatives product research for the treasury division of the same bank during 1993-95; green-field system implementation for the clearing and settlement operations of a newly setup stock exchange in India during 1995-96; and, a massive 150 person-year application rationalization program for a US stock-exchange during 1996-99.

After a long twelve-years stint of turnkey system implementations, Shailendra switched to consulting in 2002. And, since then he is in advisory role to the clients in the matters concerning enterprise application integration (EAI), service-oriented architecture (SOA) and enterprise architecture (EA). The last ten years of his career helped him gain good insight into the working of many client organizations - across the industries and across the geographies world-wide. During 2005-07, he also worked as enterprise architect on the architecture board of a leading UK-based telecommunication company.

Besides, Shailendra played key role in setting up practice areas and building organizational competence in emerging technology space, more specifically, enterprise application integration (EAI) and service oriented architecture (SOA) during 2002-08. Since 2009, he leads Enterprise Architecture (EA) Practice in Corporate Technology Excellence Group at TCS.

Shailendra lives in Mumbai with his wife Deepali, son Pratik and daughter Tanishka.
